Plant Operator

Daiken Southland Limited is a medium density fibreboard (MDF) plant manufacturing the highest quality panels for worldwide distribution. Located at Mataura, we are at the heart of economic growth and in the midst of some of the most enviable recreational opportunities in New Zealand. Plant OperatorThis is a unique opportunity for individuals experienced in a process manufacturing environment who understand the principles of quality and continuous improvement. We are looking for operators with motivation, energy and a desire to participate.  You will need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team situation and in a strongly focused health and safety environment.  You will be working in an exciting and dynamic environment that offers outstanding job satisfaction for focused and driven individuals. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the production facilities; meeting production, quality and plant reliability goals.  We operate on a 24 hour/7 day basis and you will be required to work rostered shifts – 2 days, 2 nights. 4 days off.Motivation and energy with a proven track record of achieving results within a team environment are critical for success in this position. In addition, you will demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and a high level of integrity. We prefer that you have previous experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment and understand the principles of quality and continuous improvement. Ideally, you will hold a tertiary or trade qualification.
